To say that Nirvana’s third and ultimately final studio album In Utero was 1993′s most polarizing record would be the understatement of a decade. The unadorned sonic rawness of Steve Albini’s recording laid bare every primal nuance of the most confrontational yet vulnerable material Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl would ever record. And with its 1991 predecessor Nevermind having sold some 30 million copies, single-handedly returning honest rock ’n’ roll to the top of the pop charts, In Utero was essentially the first record Nirvana would make with any expectations from the public.

So from the opening quasi-shamble melodics of “Serve The Servants” through the bittersweet closing strains of “All Apologies,”In Utero was the sound of the most incredible yet conflicted rock ‘n’ roll band of the era at the peak of its powers coming to terms with a generational spokes-band mantle they’d never seen coming – and ultimately surmounting these struggles to make the record they needed to make. As Rolling Stone’s David Fricke said in his review at the time, “In Utero is a lot of things – brilliant, corrosive, enraged and thoughtful, most of them all at once. But more than anything, it’s a triumph of the will.”

Released in September of 1991, Nirvana’s sophomore album and major label debut elevated Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a critically acclaimed Aberdeen, Washington, cult band to generational spokesmen who’d unwittingly created a cultural shift and musical touchstone.

Rising to #1 the world over by year’s end and ultimately selling over 30 million copies worldwide, Nevermind would come to be much more than one of the most successful and influential albums of its or any era. As the album that returned unaffected rock ’n’ roll integrity and passion to the top of the charts, Nevermind would prove a singular inspiration to fans and musicians alike over the last two decades, and will undoubtedly do so for generations to come!

“The overnight-success story of the 1990s, Nirvana’s second album and its totemic first single, “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” shot up from the nascent grunge scene in Seattle to kick Michael Jackson off the top of the Billboard album chart and blow hair metal off the map. No album in recent history had such an overpowering impact on a generation – a nation of teens suddenly turned punk – and such a catastrophic effect on its main creator.” – #17 on Rolling Stone’s ’500 Greatest Albums of All Time’

Artistically breathtaking and engagingly intimate, the vocal music of the early Italian Baroque was an exercise in close artistic collaboration. Bringing together three of the most renowned practitioners of historically-appropriate performance of Early Music and Baroque repertoires, the Sono Luminus release of Io Vidi in Terra provides a rare immersion into a mysterious world that, despite its relative obscurity in the perspectives of 21st-Century observers, shaped almost every aspect of music as it blossomed in subsequent generations. The package will be a 2-disc set, containing a Pure Audio Blu-ray™ Surround Sound disc as well as a standard CD.
Born in Brazil, countertenor José Lemos pursued musical studies in the United States, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the College of Charleston (South Carolina) and a Master’s Degree in Opera Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Awarded Tanglewood Music Fellowships in both 2003 and 2004, his first operatic performances in the United States were in Robert Zuidam’s Rage d’Amours and Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Tanglewood. He also won both the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the 2003 International Baroque Singing Competition in Chimay, Belgium. From those beginnings, José’s operatic career has flourished with lauded appearances at Opernhaus Zürich as Nireno in Händel’s Giulio Cesare and Narcisco in the same composer’s Agrippina, both under the baton of Marc Minkowski; an extensive tour with Stefano Landi’s Il Sant’Alessio in a production with Les Arts Florissants and William Christie, to name just a few.
Mr. Lemos has recorded multiple albums with Dorian/Sono Luminus over the years. With Baltimore Consort, he recorded Adío España (DSL-90901), a recital of music from Spain’s Age of Discovery. Additionally, he recordedRomance (DSL-90708) and Sol y Luna (DSL-92118) with Brio, featuring the exotic music of Sephardic Jews in Spain. José is thrilled to share his passion for the Italian vocal music of the 17th Century with friends and frequent collaborators Deborah Fox, theorbist and baroque guitarist, and GRAMMY®nominated harpsichordist Jory Vinikour, as well as with listeners throughout the world.

Pink Floyd-The Endless River (2014) BluRay 1080p DTS-HD MA 5.1 AVC REMUX-FraMeSToR

In early 1993, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright set up their equipment in their own Britannia Row Studios in Islington and created more than hundred pieces of music by jamming together, interacting with each other’s performances and recording the results. In 2014 David Gilmour and Nick Mason re-entered the studio and, starting with unreleased keyboard performances by Richard Wright, who sadly died in 2008, added further instrumentation to the tracks, as well as creating new material. The result is The Endless River, including 60% of recordings other than the 1993 sessions, but based upon them. The title is a further link, ‘… the endless river…’ being part of the closing phrases of High Hopes, the final song of the previous Pink Floyd album. The Endless River represents a return to the creative principles that informed the writing process that produced Pink Floyd classics like Echoes, Shine On You Crazy Diamond and Animals.

Stylistically, The Endless River includes all of the musical elements that characterize Pink Floyd: mellifluous keyboards, jazz-tinged drums, musique concrete, ethereal vocals, and distinctive, emotional lead guitar. As well as Pink Floyd’s trademark backing vocals, there is one vocal track, with lyrics by author Polly Samson, who also contributed to The Division Bell.
David Gilmour describes the record as follows: “The Endless River has as its starting point the music that came from the 1993 Division Bell sessions. We listened to over 20 hours of the three of us playing together and selected the music we wanted to work on for the new album. Over the last year we’ve added new parts, re-recorded others and generally harnessed studio technology to make a 21st century Pink Floyd album. With Rick gone, and with him the chance of ever doing it again, it feels right that these revisited and reworked tracks should be made available as part of our repertoire”.

Yes - Relayer (1974/2014) [High Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-Ray Disc]

Blu-Ray: LPCM 2.0 & 5.1 24bit/96(192)kHz and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 24bit/96kHz | 23,1 GB

Relayer is the third in a series of remixed and expanded Yes albums. Presented in a mini vinyl replica gatefold card sleeve with booklet featuring new sleeve notes by Sid Smith, along with rare photos and archive material, the album has been remixed into stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound from the original studio masters by Steven Wilson and is fully approved by Yes. Also includes the original mix in high resolution, and bonus material.

Yes had fallen out of critical favor with Tales from Topographic Oceans, a two-record set of four songs that reviewers found indulgent. But they had not fallen out of the Top Ten, and so they had little incentive to curb their musical ambitiousness. Relayer, released 11 months after Tales, was a single-disc, three-song album, its music organized into suites that alternated abrasive, rhythmically dense instrumental sections featuring solos for the various instruments with delicate vocal and choral sections featuring poetic lyrics devoted to spiritual imagery. Such compositions seemed intended to provide an interesting musical landscape over which the listener might travel, and enough Yes fans did that to make Relayer a Top Ten, gold-selling hit, though critics continued to complain about the lack of concise, coherent song structures.
