Release Date: 1971/2012

Recorded: December 1970 – January 1971, The Doors' Workshop, Los Angeles, California
Mastered by Doug Sax using an all-tube system. Overseen by Bruce Botnick, The Doors producer/engineer. DSD files created from the Analogue Productions SACD cutting master by Gus Skinas.

The title track from this, the last Doors album recorded with Jim Morrison, who died shortly after it was released, has, said one reviewer, “maybe the best Chuck Berry riffs since the Stones.” And that’s not even mentioning “Love Her Madly,” which became one of the highest charting hits for The Doors.
“Love Her Madly,” was written by Doors guitarist Robbie Krieger, who is said to have penned the song about the numerous times his girlfriend threatened to leave him. The song peaked at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and reached No. 3 in Canada.
L.A. Woman was still high on the charts when, like in the lyric “actor out on loan” of its closing track — the celebrated “Riders on the Storm,” Jim Morrison died in a Paris bathtub in the summer of 1971.
Via such tracks as “The Changeling,” “Crawling King Snake,” and the frothy, rollicking title track, the collection leaned heavily toward the Blues — in particular, Morrison’s boastful “Lizard King” brand of it. All-in-all, Rolling Stone proclaimed L.A. Woman, “The Doors’ greatest album, including their first,” and “A landmark worthy of dancing in the streets.”
Analogue Productions and Quality Record Pressings are proud to announce that six studio LP titles — The Doors, Strange Days,Waiting For The Sun, Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and L.A. Woman — are featured on 200-gram vinyl, pressed at 45 rpm. All six are also available on Hybrid Multichannel SACD! All were cut from the original analog masters by Doug Sax, with the exception of The Doors, which was made from the best analog tape copy.

Taneyev & Rimsky-Korsakov - Piano Trios - Leonore Piano Trio (2017) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Сomposer: Sergei Taneyev (1856-1915), Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov (1844-1908)
Artist: Leonore Piano Trio
Title: Taneyev & Rimsky-Korsakov - Piano Trios

Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Duration: 77 minutes 56 seconds
Recorded: January 2016, All Saints' Church, East Finchley, London, United Kingdom

Rimsky-Korsakov described Taneyev’s best music as possessing ‘a wealth of beauty and expressiveness’, a verdict with which no one is likely to disagree after hearing the piano trio recorded here. Rimsky was (unjustly) disparaging towards his own, unfinished, trio, which emerges as a brooding, substantial work well worthy of revival.

Steve Kuhn Trio - Watch What Happens! (1968/2015) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/88,2kHz

Artist: Steve Kuhn Trio
Title: Watch What Happens!
Genre: Jazz, Hard Bop, Post Bop, Piano Jazz
Label: © MPS - Musik Produktion Schwarzwald | Edel Germany GmbH
Release Date: 1968/2015
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 88,2kHz/24bit
Duration: 35:46
Recorded: July 4th, 1968 at MPS Tonstudio Villingen, Black Forest

American pianist Steve Kuhn’s playing credentials are as impressive as they are lengthy. Starting out in 1959 with trumpeter Kenny Durham, he went on to work with John Coltrane, Stan Getz, Art Farmer, and Gary Burton over the next few years. Kuhn recorded this 1968 album during his four-year sojourn in Stockholm. He teams up here with the best Scandinavian rhythm section of that era, bassist Palle Danielsson and drummer Jon Christensen, who were to become members of the legendary Keith Jarrett ‘European Quartet’. The title piece, a tasty Michel Legrand composition, flows from the Latin pulse of its theme on into Kuhn’s surging, hard-swinging solo. The Kuhn original Silver evokes the pianist’s contemplative side, and J. J. Johnson’s ballad Lament stays in this introspective vein before segueing into the relaxed Latin feel of Once We Loved. There’s a driving impressionistic impulse to Tom Jones that modulates into a lilting Burt Bacharach medley, Windows of the World & Here I Am, whereas Kuhn plays I Fall in Love too Easily with the required sense of pathos. Carla Bley’s Ad Infinitum is the album’s tour de force, encompassing the avante-garde, loping, Latinesque moments, and intense, propulsive modern jazz. Exquisitely recorded, this album is trio play at its refined best; it’s simply a beautiful album.

Recorded: 30 September – 2 October 2016, Teldex Studio, Berlin

Ottensamer presents a dazzling selection of the clarinet’s early repertoire from 18th Century Mannheim, with works by J. and C.P. Stamitz, Mozart and Danzi, together with the Kammerakademie Potsdam.
Featuring duets with Albrecht Mayer and Emmanuel Pahud - two of the great wind soloists of our time and Ottensamer’s friends and colleagues at the Berliner Philharmoniker. It promises to be the chamber recording of the year.
The "Mannheim school" was a melting pot of “revolutionary experimentation” - musicians from all over Europe coming together to develop a new explosive and colourful sound – forming the orchestra as we know it today.
The Mannheim Orchestra was also the first to adopt the recently developed clarinet into the orchestra, and here Mozart heard the instrument for the first time.
“It’s fascinating to think that Mannheim inspired so many composers and musicians, and it was the players themselves who made it happen – it gave them the chance to do their own thing. Every aspect of composition, playing, teaching and conducting was concentrated there, and audiences went wild, blown away by the kind of rock-star ensemble that they heard.” Andreas Ottensamer
Ottensamer’s debut album on Decca Classics – the first clarinettist to sign exclusively to the label in its 89 year history.
