Genre: Pop, Jazz, Vocal Jazz, Bossa Nova

Eldissa's long-time expected new album "Upside Down" will be released the 04.11.2016 Before 2005, Bossa Nova and Disco were different musical styles that hadn't met. The release of "What a difference.....", the first album of Eldissa, changed that forever. The story began when producer Adrien 'Z' Zerbini worked during the summer of 2003 with a soul singer and a Bossa nova guitarist focused on seamlessly melting Disco and Bossa Nova into an irresistible blend. After the worldwide success of "What a difference....." the trend of covering almost all, and every type, of song as a Bossa Nova cover became widespread . So it has been really challenging to produce a new album based on the same motto "Disco meets Bossa Nova", but here it is, and it's good! Adrien worked with the guitarist and arranger Ignacio Lamas (aka "Magic Touch") and 3 amazing singers with 3 different types of voice: Sylvie Bourban (aka Jazzy), Mafé (aka Spicy) and Licia Chery (aka Sunny). "All the musicians have a strong identity, a soul, and a special light in the way they play", adds Adrien, "this album is more complete and more sober than the first one, and everything has been recorded in high resolution (96/24) which creates an incredible clarity". The album has been mixed by Yvan Bing (mixing credits includes Gilberto Gil and Phil Collins), in both stereo, as well as 5.1 channel for the audiophile SACD format.

Elbow - Little Fictions (2017) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Artist: Elbow
Title: Little Fictions
Genre: Rock, Dream Pop, Alternative/Indie Rock
Label: © Polydor Limited. Under exclusive license to Concord Music Group, Inc.
Release Date: 2017
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Source: Qobuz
Duration: 00:48:29
Recorded: Blueprint Studios, Salford, Gargunnock House near Stirling and elbow rooms

Arriving three years after The Take Off and Landing of Everything -- a span of time that also saw leader Guy Garvey taking a busman's holiday with Courting the Squall -- Little Fictions showcases a different but eminently recognizable Elbow. Seven albums into their career, Elbow remain a deliberate, contemplative group -- that's part of their DNA -- but Little Fictions feels optimistic, particularly when it's compared to the elegiac The Take Off and Landing of Everything. Where that album dwelled on the idea of loss, Little Fictions is its counterbalance, a record about new beginnings. This shift is evident in the music, which is lighter on its surface and complex at its foundation. Elbow emphasize electronic rhythms, sometimes even conjuring a groove, yet they still find space for chiming guitars, such as "All Disco," which sounds like R.E.M. doing their best Velvet Underground impression. All of it adds up to an album that feels quietly hopeful, making it a tonic for troubled times. --AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Eddy Arnold - I Want to Go with You (1966/2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/192kHz

Artist: Eddy Arnold
Title: I Want to Go with You
Genre: Pop, Country Pop, Vocal Pop
Label: © Radio Corporation Of America | Sony Music Entertainment
Release Date: 1966/2016
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 192kHz/24bit
Source: HDTracks
Duration: 00:30:00
Recorded: 1966, RCA Victor Studios, Nashville

"I Want to Go With You" spent six weeks at the top of the country chart and crossed over to the pop Top 40, becoming one of the biggest hits of the year and one of Eddy Arnold's biggest hits in the '60s. The song is a pure pop ballad with a luxuriant vocal chorus that sounds more like something Vic Damone would have recorded in the '50s than the product of a country artist, and that may be why Arnold's huge easy listening hits from the '60s are not as highly regarded today as his earlier country recordings: In the '60s, he had a huge following among older, traditional pop lovers who have since sailed to glory on the ebb tide. Easy listening vocal music is a hard sell to most younger listeners and, consequently, Arnold's ultra-smoothie phase faces an ever-shrinking pool of potential listeners. The handful who remember Arnold from his heyday and appreciate the font of old-fashioned pop music he became will enjoy most of the album I Want to Go With You because it is molded in the image of its big hit single. A couple of mildly countrified cuts are slipped in toward the end to placate the country crowd, but the album is mainly a string-laden extravaganza of pop vocal music (even though many of the songs were written by Nashville songwriters) ably sung and arranged for maximum crossover appeal. --AllMusic Review by Greg Adams

Dee Dee, Barry & The Movements - Soul Hour (1968/2015) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/88,2kHz

Artist: Dee Dee, Barry & The Movements
Title: Soul Hour
Genre: Jazz, Soul Jazz, Jazz Funk, Vocal Jazz
Label: © MPS - Musik Produktion Schwarzwald | Edel Germany GmbH
Release Date: 1968/2015
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 88,2kHz/24bit
Source: highresaudio.com
Duration: 00:34:54
Recorded: April 16th and 17th, 1968 at Max Lussi, Basel, Switzerland

This obscure album is a hidden gem. Dee Dee McNeil began her career singing jazz with such greats as Hampton Hawes and Frank Butler, and then veered towards R&B and soul, writing hit songs for Motown. The Afro-American singer/songwriter’s pieces have been recorded by the likes of Diana Ross & the Supremes, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Nancy Wilson. Singer Barry Window’s father was South African, and those roots serve him well: he is the perfect counterweight to Dee Dee’s resonant voice. Saxophonist Barney Wilen is something of a jazz legend in France, having played with Miles Davis on the sound track for Louis Malle’s iconic Ascenseur pour l’échafaud. Wilen recorded two highly regarded MPS albums under his own name: Dear Prof. Leary and Auto Jazz. With its funky renditions of such classics as New Orleans R&B legend Allen Toussant’s Get Out of My Life Woman, Wilson Pickett’s Midnight Hour, and Ray Charles’ It’s Alright heated by incendiary instrumental solos and fervent vocals, the album sweats soul.

Curtis Stigers - One More For The Road (2017) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/48kHz

Title: One More For The Road
Genre: Jazz, Vocal Jazz, Vocal Pop, Swing, Smooth Jazz
Label: © Concord Music Group, Inc.
Release Date: 2017
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 48kHz/24bit

Duration: 00:33:31
Recorded live in Copenhagen at The DR Koncerthuset, January 2014

Singer, songwriter and saxophonist Curtis Stigers has been bringing those worlds together in his own music for the last three decades (along with touches of nearly every other genre one could call to mind), which makes him an ideal candidate to reinterpret Ol’ Blue Eyes’ cherished repertoire for modern ears. On his twelfth album and ninth release for Concord Records, One More for the Road, Stigers captures the rare alchemy of hipness, elegance, playfulness and feeling that made Sinatra’s renditions of these songs immortal while adding his own unique twist.
On One More for the Road, Stigers finds his own version of that elusive Sinatra-Basie chemistry with the virtuosic and ebulliently swinging musicians of the Danish Radio Big Band. Recorded in the band’s headquarters, the acoustic marvel that is the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, the bristling live recording features the DRBB playing vibrant takes based on the original Nelson Riddle and Billy May arrangements, which can’t help but spark inspired vocal performances from Stigers.
Singing in front of a great band executing flawless reinvigorations of those arrangements "is just extraordinary,” Stigers says. "It’s like sex. I don’t think there’s a more swinging band in the history of music than the Count Basie Orchestra, and then you get these classically trained Danish musicians who have really studied this stuff and played together so much, it makes it easy to fit into that and sing these amazing songs. It’s the most fun I’ve ever had, and I think it shows on the record.”
One More for the Road isn’t meant to be a recreation of Sinatra at the Sands, but uses that classic album as a launching pad for a full-blooded set of Sinatra’s best-loved tunes. Eight of the new album’s ten songs, recorded during Stigers’ now-annual January concerts in Copenhagen, come from that 1966 concert in the Sands’ Copa Room, but the setlist is also supplemented by Stigers’ takes on "Summer Wind” and "They Can't Take That Away From Me.”
Just as the album’s track listing isn’t a carbon copy of its inspiration, Stigers was careful to avoid being a slavish imitation of Sinatra, making each song its own while retaining the essence of the Chairman’s unforgettable interpretations. "Singing these songs live is a lot of fun,” Stigers says, "but going into the recording I had to figure out how to make this not be just the most fun karaoke that you can possibly do with an incredible band. I seldom sing a song the same way twice, so I made the songs my own as much as I could. I try not to sing like Sinatra, but there’s no way that some Sinatra doesn't get in there. There are certain phrasings that he used that work so well with the arrangements that I couldn’t not use them. It’s a fine line to walk, but as a jazz singer and as a recording artist, I’ve always tried to do everything different every time.”

Colin Vallon Trio - Danse (2017 High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Artist: Colin Vallon Trio
Title: Danse
Genre: Jazz, Modern Creative, Avant-Garde Jazz, Piano Jazz
Label: © ECM Records GmbH | ECM Player
Release Date: 2017
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Source: Qobuz
Duration: 00:46:00
Recorded: February 2016, Auditorio Stelio Molo RSI, Lugano

The Colin Vallon Trio has found its own space in the crowded world of the piano trio by quietly challenging its conventions. On its third ECM album Vallon again leads the group not with virtuosic solo display but by patient outlining of melody and establishing of frameworks in which layered group improvising can take place. With this group, gentle but insistent rhythms can trigger seismic musical events. Although Vallon (recently nominated for the Swiss Music Prize) is the author of nine of the pieces here, the band members share equal responsibilities for the music’s unfolding. The gravitational pull of Patrice Moret’s bass and the intense detail supplied by Julian Sartorius’s drums and cymbals are crucial to the success of Vallon’s artistic concept and the range of emotions the music can convey. Danse is issued in both CD and LP editions.
