“After Hurricane Sandy destroyed my studio, I was offered a monthly residency at The 55 Bar for the Quintet. We performed together over four years. Since I lost my drum set, I purchased a small keyboard and began composing again. It was, of course, cathartic. It was time to document the band. We had enough music for two CDs. I had to clean the slate and move on. We did 11 first takes in one day. We simply ran down the sets. We only rehearsed twice over four years. We did not have to: we were playing every month learning the music on the bandstand. We had great trust with each other. The chemistry was perfect. Most importantly, I wanted to document the flexibility of the band. Every composition is unique, featuring different arrangements, orchestrations, and soloists. I told everyone before recording: stretch out. Play the way we play live. Everyone rose to the occasion. I am very proud and honored to have recorded this Quintet with such great musicians.”

Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers - Greatest Hits (1993/2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Artist: Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers
Title: Greatest Hits
Genre: Rock, Heartland Rock, Rock & Roll, Hard Rock

Recorded: 1976–1993

In the 1970s and '80s, amid the rise of New Wave and synth pop, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers almost single-handedly brought old-school power-pop and garage-rock musical values into the mainstream. The roots-conscious Floridians are often regarded as 'heartland rockers,' and tunes like the jangling, Byrds-like 'American Girl' certainly make a case for that appellation. At the same time, 'Don't Come Around Here No More' and 'You Got Lucky' eagerly expand that stylistic template with haunting atmospherics and neo-psychedelic touches.
„Greatest Hits“ offers a handy, hook-laden, single-disc summary of this great American band. It traverses the Heartbreakers' journey from raw, lean '70s enfants terribles to elder rock-&-roll statesmen. Conveniently, it also includes the two best Heartbreakers tunes never to grace one of their studio albums--'Mary Jane's Last Dance' and the Petty/Stevie Nicks duet, 'Stop Draggin' My Heart Around.'

Live recordings, performances captured at Oslo’s Blå club and the Molde Festival, in 2007 and 2008

Food has defined a new kind of lyrical electro-acoustic improvisation in the course of its twelve year existence. Founded as a quartet in 1998, since 2006 the group has been a core duo of UK saxophonist Iain Ballamy and Norwegian drummer Thomas Strønen joined by guests for diverse projects. At the Molde Jazz Festival and the Oslo Blå club in 2007/8 their guests were trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær, well known to ECM followers, and Austrian improvising guitarist Christian Fennesz making his label debut. The resultant music, with melodic improvising, trancelike pulses, and shifting clouds of sound is highly attractive.

Thibaut Garcia - Leyendas (2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Сomposer: Various
Artist: Thibaut Garcia
Title: Leyendas
Genre: Classical
Label: © Warner Classics
Release Date: 2016
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 96kHz/24bit
Source: Qobuz
Duration: 01:06:20
Recorded: 8-10, 14. IV 2016, Maladrerie St Lazare, Beauvais, France

A Frenchman with Spanish blood, 22-year-old guitarist Thibaut Garcia makes his Erato debut with Leyendas (Legends), an atmospheric recital of music by Spanish and Argentinian composers: Albéniz, Falla, Rodrigo, Tárrega (his famous, shimmering Recuerdos de la Alhambra), Manjón and Piazzolla. “I wanted to show the guitar in its full glory,” says Garcia. “These legendary works are so close to my heart because they are part of my life and my travels.”
“This is music which made me love the guitar and which also reminds me of my Spanish roots. It shows various facets of the instrument, from the more popular style of Piazzolla’s Estaciones Porteñas and Falla’s Siete canciones populares españolas to the more classical, intimate and elegant world of Albéniz. I am a great fan of music from the early 20th century – it displays the full palette of colours that the guitar can offer.”
Making a guest appearance on the album is Erato cellist Edgar Moreau, who plays in the group of pieces by Falla. “This was the first time Edgar and I played together,” says Garcia. “It felt spontaneous, like two friends getting to know each other.”

The Temptations - Psychedelic Shack (1970/2015) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/192kHz

Artist: The Temptations
Title: Psychedelic Shack
Genre: Soul, R&B, Smooth Soul, Psychedelic Soul,

Recorded: November 1969 - February 1970

Psychedelic Shack marked a musical departure for the Temptations: as the title hints, the material is harder-edged, featuring electric guitars, modern synthesizers and studio wizardry rather than the more traditional Motown sound of the group's previous releases. The top 10 album is notable for the first appearance of the protest song War, which would be re-recorded three months later as a major hit by Edwin Starr and again in the 1980s by Bruce Springsteen.

Recorded: Villingen, Germany, May 26-31, 1975; Orchestra tracks recorded at A+M Studios, Hollywood, Calif. U.S.A., April 11, 1975

The Singers Unlimited were a four-part jazz vocal group formed in 1971 by Gene Puerling. Members of the group included Len Dresslar (better known as the Jolly Green Giant in General Mills commercials), Bonnie Herman, Don Shelton and Puerling himself.
Gene Puerling and Don Shelton had formed part of Puerling's successful all-male vocal group, The Hi-Lo's, some years previously, though Shelton was a 1959 replacement for original HiLo Bob Strassen. The Singers Unlimited group were originally formed to record for commercials in the USA, but as time passed, they were persuaded to enter the recording studio to record a series of albums. On the recommendation of pianist Oscar Peterson (who was also signed to the label at the time), they gained a contract with German label MPS. They recorded two albums in 1971, the first a cappella, the second, In Tune with Peterson's then-current trio.
The group produced 15 albums, of which arguably the most well-known is their Christmas album (which was actually recorded before the group's association with MPS.) All of the 14 albums they recorded specifically for MPS (between the years 1971-1982) are collected in the 7-CD box set entitled Magic Voices.
Puerling's Singers Unlimited arrangements earned him the reputation as one of the best vocal writers in the world. Members of the renowned jazz-gospel vocal group Take 6 often give credit to Puerling and the Singers Unlimited as innovators in the a cappella world, claiming that they "went to school" on Puerling's arrangements.
Puerling took advantage of cutting-edge multitracking techniques of German studio engineer Hans Georg Brunner-Schwer to create his advanced harmonic concepts and the group's signature sound. In the overdubbing process, baritone Puerling and tenor Shelton would often add two additional middle parts, after which all parts were "doubled" and "tripled." Creating these extra tracks created the fuller, richer sound of the group's recordings, and is now a common recording practice. Gene Puerling died on March 25, 2008.
Bass singer Len Dresslar (1924–2005) was known as the voice of the Jolly Green Giant ("Ho, Ho, Ho!") for over 40 years, as well as the voice behind countless other jingles from Chicago. He had also been the President of the Chicago branch of the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) for several years in the mid-to-late 1980s.
Bonnie Herman was the singer of the original "Like a Good Neighbor, State Farm Is There" commercial jingle, which ran for several years. She is the daughter of Lawrence Welk original Champagne Lady Lois Best, and Jules Herman, who was a trumpet player in the Welk orchestra. She is the niece of big band leader Woody Herman. --wikipedia

As the Sidekicks, the band earned a national hit with their tune, "Suspicions", and recorded an album in 1966. Although it is rare for recently discovered recordings by a garage band to be released on an album, in 2001 Meet the Redcoats! Finally was issued with all of the group's recovered material.
