Strange Highways is the sixth studio album by the American heavy metal band Dio. It's also their first album since Ronnie James Dio and Vinny Appice's reunion tour with Black Sabbath. The European release was on Vertigo, in October 1993; the U.S. release was on Reprise Records, in January 1994.
After the short-lived reunion with Black Sabbath for the recording of the album Dehumanizer (1992) and the subsequent tour, Dio and Appice returned to Dio's solo group, hiring Tracy Grijalva as new guitarist. Former Dio bassist Jimmy Bain was to make a return to the band, but he was soon sacked by Dio and replaced by Jeff Pilson.

Sacred Heart is Dio's third studio album. It was released in August 15, 1985 on Warner Bros. Records. The record peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 chart. It is one of Dio's most well-known albums, and includes singles such as "Sacred Heart", "Rock 'n' Roll Children" and "Hungry for Heaven".
This was the last Dio album to include guitarist Vivian Campbell, who was fired midway through the album's tour. Campbell went on to join several other bands, most notably Def Leppard, Riverdogs, Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy. A rift occurred during the recording of this album between Dio and the guitarist - "...for me, he (Viv) wasn't even there for this record."

This special, uncirculated Dave Matthews solo acoustic performance was recorded in Spring, 1996 outside at the Sweet Briar College Dell, just before the release of the band’s sophomore album Crash. The show is intimate and carefree and Dave takes his time sharing stories regarding the place of inspiration for "Crash Into Me" (a dorm within viewing distance of the stage) and a recent trip to Africa. This rare performance features beautiful solo acoustic renditions of full-band songs with highlights including “#41," "Lie In Our Graves," "Seek Up” and “#36.”

Colin Vallon, Patrice Moret, Samuel Rohrer - Rruga (2011) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/44,1kHz

Duration: 53:57
Recorded: May 2010 at Studios La Buissonne, Pernes-les-Fontaines

“Rruga”, meaning ‘path’, ‘road’ or ‘journey’ in Albanian, is the evocative title of the ECM debut by the trio of pianist Colin Vallon, bassist Patrice Moret and drummer Samuel Rohrer. After shared musical experiences on the Swiss jazz scene, they began their trio journey five years ago, and have grown into one of Europe’s most promising bands, shaping a rugged and individual music, inspired by songs and singers, and by the music of the Caucasus region as well as by the jazz tradition. Challenging conventions of the modern jazz piano trio, the instrumentalists meet on equal terms as the music is created, arranged and developed collectively.

Claus Ogerman and His Orchestra - Saxes Mexicanos (1966/2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/192kHz

Artist: Claus Ogerman and His Orchestra
Title: Saxes Mexicanos
Genre: Jazz, Easy Listening, Jazz Pop, Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Post Bop, Crossover Jazz
Label: © RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment
Release Date: 1966/2016
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 192kHz/24bit
Source: HDTracks
Duration: 00:25:55
Recorded: Webster Hall, New York City

Like many a mod album, Saxes Mexicanos capitalized on the success of Herb Alpert. The term "swinging mariachi" may be as dubious as the album's title, but there are some swinging tunes here. With Ogerman, you can always count on top players and interesting arrangements. Dick Hyman turns in fantastic (but uncredited) contributions on the Lowrey organ on several upbeat numbers. Highlights include "Dardanella" (which belongs in the mod hall of fame), Artie Shaw's "Nightmare," and Roger Miller's "King of the Road." While the first side is consistently strong, side two has a sizable hole in the middle. Saxes Mexicanos may not sound as compelling as Soul Searchin' or Watusi Trumpets, but it does boast top players and prime Ogerman arrangements. --AllMusic Review by Tony Wilds

THE comprehensive collection of Emylou in the 1970’s! Featuring four of her studio albums (Pieces of the Sky, Elite Hotel, Luxury Liner, Quarter Moon in a Ten Cent Town, and Blue Kentucky Girl). Also included is her early holiday album, Lights of the Stable. A fantastic collection of an artist in her prime.

Already celebrated as a discoverer and interpreter of other artists’ songs, 12-time Grammy Award winner Emmylou Harris has, in the last decade, gained admiration as much for her eloquently straightforward songwriting as for her incomparably expressive singing. As well as leading a successful solo career, Harris has worked with a wide spectrum of musical luminaries, including Gram Parsons, Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton, Mark Knopfler, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. A 12-time Grammy winner, she was also a Billboard’s Century Award recipient in 1999 and has been inducted into both The Country Music Hall of Fame and The Academy of Arts and Sciences. She was also named one of VH1’s “100 Most Influential Women in Rock and Roll.”
