Title: DOS In Sight
Genre: Jazz, Vocal Jazz
Label: © Fonè Records/Audiophile Productions
Release Date: 2016
Quality: DSF Stereo DSD64/2.82MHz
Source: nativeDSDmusic
Duration: 55:42
Recorded: November 7-8, 2015 at Museo Piaggio - Auditorium - Pontedera (Pi); Recorded in stereo DSD on the Pyramix Recorder using dCS A/D and D/A converters

The artistic adventure of DOS goes on, after the successful experience of the debut album that marked the beginning of an artistic bond between the voice of Eleonora Bianchini and the double bass played by Enzo Pietropaoli.
DOS presents IN SIGHT, an original glance at international pop songs (from Michael Jackson to Oasis), Italian classics (including Battiato, Battisti and Celentano) and previously unreleased songs, all connected in a journey along a gracefully homogeneous path. The voice of Eleonora Bianchini blends perfectly with the sonic taste of Enzo Pietropaoli, who is able to let his instrument “sing” in extraordinary ways. “Standard” recordings often tend to penalize the sound of double bass, whereas the recordings signed by fonè are able to emphasize the musicality of this instrument, making all upper harmonics perfectly audible, with a peculiar richness in timbre.
The recordings took place in a natural environment; in this case, our choice was the Auditorium Hall at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, a location particularly appreciated by Giulio Cesare Ricci. The Auditorium is located in the factory where the first Vespas used to be assembled in the early 1900s: nowadays, it stands out for its truly excellent acoustics.
DOS 2 – IN SIGHT is able to offer a special taste, giving a new flavor to all the songs included in the record, most of which are imprinted in the past of any of us.

Secret Treaties is the third studio album by the American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, released in 1974 by Columbia Records. Secret Treaties is regarded by many fans and critics alike as Blue Öyster Cult's best album. The album spent 14 weeks in the US album charts, peaking at No. 53. It was declared gold by the RIAA in 1992. In 1975, a poll of critics of the British magazine Melody Maker voted Secret Treaties as the "Top Rock Album of All Time". In 2010, Rhapsody called it one of the all-time best "proto-metal" albums. The cover, with art by Ron Lesser, depicts the band standing beside and sitting on and besides a German Me262 fighter aircraft; this scene is inspired by the song of the same name. Many songs from this album found their way into BOC playlists over the following years, including "Career of Evil", "Subhuman", "Astronomy" and "Harvester of Eyes".

Blue Oyster Cult - Cultosaurus Erectus (1980/2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

The band had got the seasoned producer Martin Birch (who earlier had worked with the likes of Deep Purple, Rainbow, Wishbone Ash and soon would produce Iron Maiden) to produce their first album of the 80's. 'Cultosaurus Erectus' became their heaviest album in quite a long time, and was a step in the right direction after the too slick and tame 'Mirrors'. Starting with the best-known track of the album, 'Black Blade' was yet another song with lyrics by Michael Moorcock, and featured lots of spacey effects among the heavy riffs and strong melodies to create just the right sci-fi atmosphere. 'Monsters' is one of the best and most overlooked examples of their adventurous and sophisticated heavy rock, featuring swinging jazz-passages between complex multi-part riffs. The slow and almost bluesy 'Divine Wind' is a lot more traditional, but just as enjoyable. The synth-drenched 'Deadline' stands probably as the most melodic moment on the album. The second side starts with the very theatrical rocker 'The Marshall Plan' that in a way reminds me of Styx, but unlike the title-track of the previous album avoids being a clone. 'Fallen Angel' and 'Unknown Tongue' are both of the more melodic kind, while 'Hungry Boys' and 'Lips in the Hills' are straightforward and gritty heavy rockers. The album marked a promising start for Blue Öyster Cult's 80's career, and this gradual return to form would result in one of their best works the year after.

Blue Oyster Cult - Fire of Unknown Origin (1981/2016) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/96kHz

Despite the 80's sounding production and arrangements, 'Fire of Unknown Origin' is one of the strongest and most consistent set of songs that Blue Öyster Cult ever had. The album shows the band at their melodically best and most inspired, and there's not a single bad track to be found here. The title-track opens the record, and takes the style of 'Deadline' from the previous album into something even better. 'Burnin' for You' and 'Joan Crawford (Has Risen from the Grave)' remain two of the band's most immediate and catchy songs, and would make it into Blue Öyster Cult's concert repertoire and remained there more or less ever since. 'Veteran of the Psychic Wars' is in my opinion the best of their songs to feature lyrics by Michael Moorcock, and has a complex melody that never fail to impress me. 'Sole Survivor' uses the same female backing vocals that could be found on 'Mirrors', but here it works so much better and more integrated in the band's style. And their melodic harmonies rarely sounded better than on 'Vengeance (The Pact)' and that says quite a lot. 'Heavy Metal: the Black and Silver' is on the other hand more straightforward heavy rock that had more in common with the previous album. 'After Dark' is a fast and catchy pop/rock tune, while the closer 'Don't Turn Your Back' is the only song on the album that may takes some time to fully enjoy. With 'Fire of Unknown Origin', Blue Öyster Cult became one of the very few '70s hard rock bands to release one of their best albums in the 80's.

Feted by heavy metal fans, this was a much broader album that put them in touch with AOR radio, and consequently took them out of their heavy rock ghetto. The ace in their tarot pack was the entrancing and enchanting 'Don't Fear The Reaper' - the greatest song that the original Byrds never wrote. Flowing and chiming it put the band in the pop charts with a song of rare quality and consequently pushed this album's sales. The other tracks struggle to compete with the Reaper, but there are moments, especially with 'The Revenge Of Vera Gemini,' on which Patti Smith narrates.

As a composer, he has created the concept of micro-opera, and his works have been premiered at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Prague Smetana Hall. Invited to many of the European festivals, he works with a host of national orchestras; in particular he serves as the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Prague Sinfonia Orchestra.

The Prague Sinfonia embodies the Velvet Revolution's spiritual, cultural and social renewal through symphonic performance and owes its existence to Václav Havel's ideas. Its discography includes the complete Schubert overtures in two CDs and all of Rossini's overtures in four volumes. A recording of the solo repertoire with the violinist Fabrizio von Arx has recently been released on RCA Red
Seal, including works by Saraste and Bruch. This recording of Benda's Sinfonias, as well as an earlier CD of Philidor's overtures, showcases the Prague Sinfonia Orchestra's inter pretative approach with the focus on the music of the classical period.

This recording of Dvorák: Symphony No.2 plus Slavonic Dances from José Serebrier and the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra is the fourth volume in a projected series of Dvorák’s complete symphonies.
Written in a period spanning three decades, Dvorák nine symphonies had their numbering changed some fifty years after his death. The first four symphonies remained unpublished for many years, while the last five had been published during Dvorák‘s lifetime as Nos.1–5. Thus the famous No.9, “From the New World”, first appeared as No.5, and the D major, No.6, was introduced as No.1. These numbers remained in place until the middle of the last century, when the nine symphonies were at last renumbered according to their true chronology.
The Symphony No.2 in B flat major, op.4 was composed by Antonín Dvorák between August and October 1865. Dvorák sent the score to be bound, and the legend goes that he was unable to pay the binder, who thus decided not to return the score. The symphony finally had its world premiere in 1888 — its sole performance during the composer’s lifetime. It was conducted by Adolf Cech, who had previously conducted the premieres of Dvorák’s Symphonies 5 and 6.
