About the Mastering :: Four engineers at Abbey Road Studios in London have remastered these historic EMI recordings from their original analogue sources for release in pristine hi-def. Between them, Simon Gibson, Ian Jones, Andy Walter and Allan Ramsay have many years of experience remastering archive recordings for EMI and other record labels. The process always starts with finding all of the records and tapes in EMI's archive in London and comparing different sources and any previous CD reissues. We consult each recording's job file, which contains notes about the recording made by the engineer and producer. For example, this sometimes explain why there is more than one set of tapes to choose from. All of the tapes are generally in good condition and we play them on our Studer A80 π inch tape machine, after careful calibration of its replay characteristics.
In order to have the best digital remastering tools at our disposal for the remastering, we transfer from analogue to the digital domain at 96 KHz and 24-bit resolution using a Prism ADA-8 converter and capture the audio to our SADiE Digital Audio Workstation.

Two titles from a Schoenberg double album that also included the Theme and Variations, op. 43b (under Eugene Ormandy), the String Trio, op. 45 (with members of the Juilliard String Quartet), and the Variations on a Recitative for organ, op. 40 (with Marilyn Mason). Gould was not particularly happy with the Ode to Napoleon: “The recording was rather more deliberate and literal in terms of the deployment of the voice than I should have liked.”

Presto was Rush's first album with their new international label Atlantic Records, which the band signed to in early 1989 after deciding not to renew its contract with Mercury/PolyGram Records.
The band had intended to co-produce the album with Peter Collins, who had produced the previous two studio albums, Power Windows and Hold Your Fire; however, he reluctantly declined the offer for personal reasons. Instead, Rupert Hine, who had been approached for Grace Under Pressure, produced the album.

Power Windows is the 11th studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released in 1985. Recorded at The Manor and Sarm East Studios in England, and AIR Studios in Montserrat, it was the first Rush album produced by Peter Collins, and the first to be released directly to CD.
Power Windows introduced more synthesizers into the band's sound. The music videos for "The Big Money" and "Mystic Rhythms" both received significant play on MTV. During the period when the album was produced, the band were expanding into new directions from their progressive rock base, having "tightened up their sidelong suites and rhythmic abstractions into balled-up song fists, art-pop blasts of angular, slashing guitar, spatial keyboards and hyperpercussion, all resolved with forthright melodic sense".

Rod Stewart - Another Country (2015) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/44.1kHz

Genre: Rock, Pop Rock
Label: © Capitol Records
Release Date: 2015
Quality: High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 44,1kHz/24bit

Another Country is Rod Stewart's brand new studio album via Capitol Records. One of rock’s most gifted storytellers is back to continue the story he began with 2013’s Time.
"I’ve found that the only way to write songs is to be as personal and honest as possible, And when my last album was so well-received it gave me the confidence to keep on writing, and to examine and write about different things. It also gave me the freedom to experiment with different sounds like reggae, ska and Celtic melodies,” says Stewart.
Another Country was recorded in Stewart’s home while closely collaborating with co-producer Kevin Savigar. Stewart remarks, “It seems like I’ve spent years of my life in a recording studio so being able to record this album at home, where most of the songs were written, felt so much more intimate and inspiring.”

Ralph Towner, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Slava Grigoryan - Travel Guide (2013) High-Fidelity FLAC Stereo 24bit/88.2kHz

An international summit meeting, “Travel Guide” features US guitarist Ralph Towner, Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel, and Kazakhstan-born and Australia-raised guitarist Slava Grigoryan. The three musicians first came together in 2005, initially for concerts in Australia, and have since toured widely. A 2009 recording on Muthspiel’s Material Records label documented the group’s early progress. Ralph Towner subsequently brought the project to ECM and the trio recorded this album in Lugano in August 2012, with Manfred Eicher as producer. Towner has been a key ECM recording artist for more than 40 years, while Muthspiel and Grigoryan make label debuts here. Grigoryan is well known as the preeminent Australian classical guitarist of his generation, and Muthspiel’s been an important figure on the transatlantic jazz scene for two decades, with his own bands and as a contributor to groups of Gary Burton, Paul Motian and many others. What all three guitarists share is a strong feeling for structure, a sense for lyrical improvisation and a feeling for space, harnessing instrumental technique to very graceful musical ends. Repertoire features five compositions by Towner, and five by Muthspiel.
